Quality of fisheries products under discussion

The congress drew representatives from the Spanish fisheries and aquiculture sector, the central government and experts on food safety from both Spain and abroad to discuss production, processing, distribution and commercialisation of fisheries products from the viewpoint of safety and quality.

Among other issues, the papers and roundtables addressed European and Spanish food safety standards, research into new channels for ensuring product quality, and the application of traceability as a mechanism to safeguard product safety.
