Recruiting workers as interns

The Training Area provides businesses in the unit with the opportunity to recruit students who have taken occupational training courses on handling fresh produce as staff interns. As a result, businesses have access to trained personnel, with the advantage that they have an internship period to assess the suitability of the candidate and decide whether they wish to recruit him/her on a permanent basis. The 30 students doing the fish and meat handling courses will begin their 80-hour internship in mid-November.
