How to get to the Green Point facilities

Mercabarna companies

When they generate a large quantity of waste material (more than half a pallet) Mercabarna companies located in the central markets must deposit it directly at the Green Point facilities and not in the containers located around the markets.

The companies located in the Complementary Activities Zone (ZAC) may use the Green Point facilities whenever they please regardless of the quantity of commercial waste material they generate.

Buyers

If you are a buyer at Mercabarna and you wish to deposit the waste material generated by your commercial activities, you must visit the Green Point facilities before purchasing.

Issue of certificates

Requirements for obtaining Green Point certification:

  • Use of the facilities must be demonstrated by a reading of the entrance control ticket.  For identification purposes the Food Unit PREPAID OR SEASON ENTRANCE TICKET is to be used. That is why certificates can not be issued to companies that do not use this system.
  • As a general rule certificates are issued for one-year periods. If you require a certificate for less than one year you must make a specific request.
  • Application form (pdf document). You have to fill the blanks and then, send the document to the Green Point facilities.
