The Complementary Activities Zone (ZAC)

There are some 50 fruit and vegetable companies engaged in activities that complement those of the Central Market at the Mercabarna Complementary Activities Zone (ZAC).

The ZAC brings together:

Companies specialised in the manipulation, ripening, preparation, packaging, conservation, distribution, import and export of fruit and vegetables, and specialists in potatoes, bananas and organic produce, etc.
The purchasing centres of large food distribution companies and chains of specialised fruit traders who source fresh produce at Mercabarna.
Some 20 fruit and vegetable companies specialised in supplying the restaurant industry.
